Here is this week's update.

Class began with 3 OMs followed by

"Om Saha Navavatu" (page 8 in My Prayers book)
 Om shrI Ganeśaya Namaha,  shrI Saraswatyai Namaha,  shrI Sat Gurubhyo Namaha.
"Vakratunda Mahakaya" (page 27 in My Prayers book)

Saraswathi Namasthubhyam
"Gurur Brahma" (page 60 in My Prayers book)
 "Neelaam buja" & "SriRama Rama rameti" (page 129 My prayers book)

Key to Success (Vibhishana Gita). We had a great discussion on the following questions- What makes you smile? What is success? How do you measure success? What do you need to be successful? 
Hard work refers to working diligently towards our goals irrespective of distractions or obstacles. Knowledge refers to 2 things, self knowledge, which means the knowledge of our true nature (happiness) and the know-how of the task at hand. The capacity to laugh means that we should be able to laugh at our failures rather than get discouraged by them.
What is Happiness? What is The Master Key?
Knowledge of the self is the master key of life.
If Happiness is in the objects, everyone will feel happy with the same objects. Our scriptures say, "Happiness is not in the objects, but it is within us."
We watched the following short videos to understand how successful the individual is when doing the right things, in the right direction despite the hardships faced and obstacles laid, also any negative comments are passed, we need to overcome and focus only on the target and keep moving forward to reach our goal.

Naama Ramayanam
We learned the first 6 lines of the naama ramayanam (baala kaandam) with meanings.

Geeta time- We watched the Geeta primer video. The chanting video will begin from the next session onwards.
We then proceeded to the mandapa for the Arathi and Pledge.

Homework- We have asked all kids to talk to their parents about their success. Children, please write it down in a professional way. We will randomly choose any student to read out their work in the next class. Thanks.

Next class on 9/24/23 
Class Rules and requirements: 

  1. Class starts at 9:15am sharp with the opening prayers. We will not let children in when the prayer is going on. Please, kindly send them before 9:13/14 for a minute to settle down before the prayers.

  2. Children should bring their own copy of "My prayers" book, Balavihar handbook,Notebook, pencils and erasers. Rajaji's Ramayana book is the reference textbook. (not required to buy it right now, but a copy of Ramayan book at home is auspicious)

  3. Children may bring their own "spill proof water bottles"

  4. NO snacks please.
