Hari Om Parents,
Today was the 6th class of Balavihar!! It was wonderful to see all the kids dressed in their festive best!! Here is the summary of what we covered in the class today:
Opening Prayers: All of us assembled in our classroom 'Krishna', we all chanted three OMs and then chanted the Opening Prayers - Sahana Vavatu. All the kids chanted together nicely.
Sloka time : We chanted the following slokas -EkaDantam -Ganesha slokha, Guru Brahma, Saraswathi sloka, Gayatri mantra, first verse of Mahalakshmi Ashtakam and Aiygiri Nandini.
Brainstorming : We discussed Navratri festival - and why we pray to Goddess Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswathi and discussed the significance of praying to Goddess for Nine days and how the Divine Mother got victory over Mahishasura. We saw a video illustrating the story of Goddess Durga and Mahishasura. We also discussed that on Vijaya Dashami day Lord Rama defeated Ravana. And we discussed how Goddess Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswathi give us strength, courage, knowledge, good virtues, money and prosperity -which need to live a good life.
Kids happily shared how they did Navaratri pooja, and the sweets they offered, and discussed about Gollu - the festive display of dolls and God's figurines during Navratri, Garbha etc.
Activity: We kept a small pooja area in our classroom for today, each Kid offered flowers and prayed to Goddess Saraswathi and then we did Garbha dance moves while playing Garbha songs.
Attendance: Attendance was taken when each kid was called to offer flowers to Goddess Saraswathi.
Saraswathi Pooja: Then we all went to the Assembly, where each kid participated, using the items provided in the pooja thali, offered it to Goddess Saraswathi, while the priest chanted the Slokas.
Today was a short class due to Saraswathi pooja in the assembly, Pictures shared in the class whatsapp group.
