Hari Om Parents!
We started the class with 3 OM, followed by the Dhyana Slokas.
Briefly we talked about the current event that's happening between Israel & Gaza in the context of the Action- Reaction-Result and linked to the Karma concept.
In the previous class each team was assigned with one instrument and asked to come up with the Sins that are committed by it.
Team 1 - Body
Team 2 - Mind
Team 3 - Mind
Team 4 - Speech
Today's class, we had each team select a leader to present the details and have a Q & A session between the teams. We had a scoreboard to make it interesting and competitive between the teams. The behavior aspects of the teams were also part of the score to bring discipline. Overall all the teams did really good. The class activity video snippets were shared in the parents WhatsApp group.
Finally we discussed about the Mahabharata incident from Danadharma Parva. When Yudhisthira was upset and sad about the war, Krishna advised pandava to seek counsel from Bhisma Pitamaha. Bhisma explains the Law of Karma, when to take The right actions and what are the 10 karmas to be given up. So that everyone can have a good life. These are broken down as sins of body, speech & mind.
1. Sins of Body:
To kill someone
To steal
To have illicit relationships
2. Sins of Speech:
To say bad words
To say harsh words
To lie
To complain or spread rumours
3. Sins of Mind:
To think of taking away someone else's wealth
To have ill-feeling for anyone
To not have faith in the Law of Action

In today's class we discussed karma in terms of the mind, body and speech. We discussed the negative actions performed by the body, mind and speech. All actions are linked together, whether they are done with the body, the mind or by speech. If your mind is unstable, then your speech can be bad and then could escalate to bad actions with the body.
Body:
All physical actions are related to your mind because your brain is the command center of your body. It includes your mind and your thoughts. Actions that your body does are initiated by your mind.
Examples:
- Eating junk food
- Self harm
- Harming others
Speech:
All verbal actions are also related to your mind. Even though, you may say things unintentionally or unconsciously, your subconscious would still be thinking about it.
Examples:
- Swearing/cursing
- Talking behind people's back
- Lying
Mind:
Mental actions are actions that start out mental actions but then change to speech or body actions. Whatever action you do, starts out in the mind. You can think bad about something or someone but many times, you will react physically or verbally. Anger is also a mental action. But many people react to anger differently and process negatives things differently.
Examples:
- Being angry
- Thinking bad about someone or something
- Doubting yourself
We also related the Mahabharata to this topic.
Thank you! Have a good break!
