Hari Om Parents,
Today was the 7th class of Balavihar!! Here is the summary of what we covered in the class today:
Opening Prayers: All of us assembled in our classroom 'Krishna', we all chanted three OMs and then chanted the Opening Prayers - Sahana Vavatu. All the kids chanted together nicely. It felt very nice and calm after.
Sloka time: We then chanted the slokas -EkaDantam -Ganesha slokha, and we learnt Krishna slokha and repeated it a couple of times and learnt the word by word meaning as well.

Exploration: Through the activity with 3 glasses of water, mud and sugar where we had One glass of water was dirty outside and inside, the second glass of water was dirty on the outside and was clean inside, and the third glass of water was clean on the inside and outside, we introduced Cleanliness and what it means to be Clean on the outside and Clean on the Inside.
Introduction: Letter C is for Cleanliness - being free from Dirt, and that which is neat and organized. We discussed what We mean by Cleanliness and what a Clean mind is and how it leads to a Sweet mind.
Brainstorming: Kids were shown different pictures via slides to learn about Cleanliness and three types: Cleanliness of body, surroundings and mind. Pictures via slides were shown showing good and bad actions. And our actions come from our thoughts which in turn means we need to have a clean mind. And that Cleanliness is equal to Godliness. And having a clean mind within is the only way to get closer to God and to have inner happiness and joy. It was an interactive session with kids participating actively.
Story Time: Kids were taught through the story of the Royal Horse, that we should always keep our body, surroundings and mind clean
Introduction: Letter 'D' is for Daddy and Dad's are "kind," "loving," "caring," "wise," "protective," "strong," and have similar qualities as God, hence we revere them as God.
Exploration: Kids told the various things their Dad's do for them which shows their love and care. They all shared that they love when their Dads play with them and everyone shared their happy moments with their Dad. It was very nice to hear them.
And we shared that the Almighty God is our Eternal father and takes care of all of us. And kids were asked to say to their dad - 'Pitru Devo Bhava' and explained that 'Pitru' in this context refers to their 'Daddy'. and Another meaning is our ancestors, to whom we need to pray and be Thankful as well.
Activity: Kids were provided Construction Paper and asked to draw and color anything they want for their Dad, Kids got very creative and got busy with their work(pics shared on whatsapp group). And some kids happily shared crayons with other kids who did not bring them.
Attendance: Attendance was taken and each kid responded by saying Hari Om.
Deepavali Activity: As we are celebrating Diwali next week, Kids were provided instructions on how to draw Diya and color it beautifully. They did a good job by drawing beautiful diyas and filling it with colors.
Deepavali Story: Through the Story of Narakasura and Krishna, and Return of Rama to Ayodhya, we discussed why Diwali is celebrated and how it is celebrated, we discussed that Diwali signifies the end of bad or evil things and we light Diyas to usher in goodness and prosperity.
Geeta Chanting: Then we recited Gītā using the Chanting video telecast of verses 4 & 5. Please make kids chant Bhagavad Gita verses learnt so far in class and record them and send this recording to geeta@chinmayavrindavan.org with the child's name, session, Grade, and the verse numbers as the subject line.
Exit Ticket: Kids were provided Interview with Dad Questionnaire sheet for which they need to spend time with Dad and fill it. Looking forward to interesting responses in the next class.
It was a very interactive class with kids. Kids shared interesting views and thoughts with all and happily participated in all the Class Activities.
Note: Next Class is on Nov 19th. No class next Sunday Nov 12th due to Deepavali.
