We had Swamini Amma Radhikananda ji 's visit to our class. Amma taught us two beautiful Bhajans - 1. Ring song (sundara kannada, sita hanuman conversation) and 2. Om namah shivaya. It was a magical music session that all of us took part in and sang with happiness. Some of us were even blessed to provide rhythm support with cymbals, taala and bells.
The lyrics of both the songs are sent (image ) in the whatsapp group.
Next class on 12/10- we have planned to work on with instrumentalists of our class. We have listed some names in the image sent today in whatsapp group. All these children are expected to come to Bala vihar with their respective instruments next class (12/10)
Our class presentation is on 4/7/2024 - we will do a musical by 1 group and a short skit by the next group. (we have a big number of 27 as the class strength. We will open a common document in the drive for the script writers of our class, some of them have great ideas already and are waiting to put their thoughts in the documents.
Geeta time - we learned verse numbers 6,7,8 & 9 from chapter 4.
Ramayanam - Kishkindha kaanda
We continued the lesson with the Kishkinda kaanda-
Sugriva promised to help Rama find Sita and asked for help in vanquising Vali. Rama immediately agreed. He asked Sugriva to go and challenge Vali to a fight. Sugriva wanted proof of Rama's strength- Rama struck one arrow through seven Sala trees and Sugriva was awestruck. He immediately went to challenge Vali. Vali's wife Tara cautioned Vali as she had heard of Rama and Sugriva's friendship. Vali however took on the challenge and he engaged in combat with Sugriva. Rama was initially unable to distinguish between them and refrained from discharging an arrow. Sugriva, badly bruised, came and asked him why he had not killed Vali. Rama asked him to wear a garland so he could distinguish between the two of them. Sugriva went back to fight Vali and this time, Rama discharged an arrow and killed Vali. Vali, struck and on death's doorstep, was initially upset that Rama had killed him without engaging in open combat with him. But Rama explained to him his right as a representative of King Bharata to uphold the law in these parts of the kingdom and also animal races are hunted from a hidden spot. Assuaged, Vali asked him to take care of his son Angada and passed away, lamented by his queen Tara.

Coat Drive by grade 7
Our 7th grade class is doing a coat drive for the holiday season ending on Dec 16th. Please donate gently used coats generously towards this great cause. You can leave it by the assigned table at the entrance. Thank you!
